Obituary for Ruby E. Pumphrey (Donaldson)

Ruby E. Pumphrey, 82, of Weston went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 4, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital of Morgantown due to an extended illness with her granddaughter Gwen by her side. She was born in Lewis County on June 7, 1937: daughter of the late Mae E. Riffle Donaldson and Michael E. Donaldson.

Ruby is survived by three daughters: Debbie Whitt of Stonewood, Donna Saville and husband Will of Mentor, OH and Delores Grogg and husband Sam of Weston. She was also survived by 8 grandchildren: Gwendolyn Blake, Jessica Sandy, Heather Matheny, Samantha Miller, Brandi Saville, Caitlann Grogg, Brianna Grogg and Harley Grogg and 11 great-grandchildren and her fur baby Mimi. She is also survived by one brother: William (Tub) Donaldson and several nieces and nephews. Ruby was preceded in death by an infant son: Robert Ross Ables, her ex-husband: Elmer Ables and her late husband: Paul Pumphrey. She was also preceded in death by her seven brothers: Francis, Junior, Martin, Eddie, Dana, Leonard and Aubrey Donaldson and three sisters: Delcie Garrett, Gracie Taylor and Mae Ables.

Ruby worked at the West Virginia Glass Specialty Company of Weston and later worked as a caregiver to many whom she loved. She never met a stranger and would talk to everyone. All her family and friends will always remember the home cooked meals she made for them. She loved her three girls and all of her grandchildren with all her heart. Family was very important to her and she would do anything to help each and every one of them. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Family and friends will be received at the Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman Family Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Corey Matheny officiating.
