Obituary for Rosie Mae Atkinson (Sims)
Rosie Mae Atkinson, 90, of Clarksburg passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020 in United Hospital Center following an extended illness. She was born in Weston on May 3, 1929: daughter of the late Floyd Sims and Melissa (Ebbert) Sims. Rosie first married Robert Henline, who preceded her in death in August of 1987. In April 22, 1995, she married Ronald Atkinson, who survives.
Mrs. Atkinson is survived by three daughters: Irma Richards of Weston, Jessie Farrell of Harrisonburg, VA, and Nancy Mayo of Weston, one son: Bobbie Henline of Weston, 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. In addition to her mother and first husband, Robert, Rosie was preceded in death by one daughter: Shirley Ann Rowan, one son: Joe Henline, one grandchild, one half brother and one half sister.
Mrs. Atkinson was a farmer and homemaker. She loved to cook, sew and garden. Before her illness, Rosie attended the New Life Baptist Church.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Roger Brown officiating.
