Obituary for Robert Lee Posey
Robert Lee Posey,89, of Weston went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, September 12, 2020 In Ruby Memorial Hospital of Morgantown, WV. He was born in Weston on February 13, 1931: son of the late Michael Dexter Posey and Mintie Jane (Singleton) Posey. On August 6, 1953, he married Hazel Marie (Linger) Posey, who survives.
Mr. Posey is also survived by four loving children: Susan Lynn Posey of Herndon, VA, John Michael Posey and wife Joanna, Ricky Dee Posey and wife Princetti and Robert Lee Posey and wife Valerie all of Weston and six grandchildren: Miranda Dawn Posey, James Robert Posey and wife Jessica, Joshua Michael Posey and wife Julie, Carley Jane Posey, Janine Michelle Posey and Lauren Nicole Posey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by one daughter: Jane Marie Posey Barrett, two sisters: Buelah Jane Posey Carr and Ruth Amanda Posey Tonkin and nine brothers: Oren Dexter Posey, Minter Owen Posey, Carl Newton Posey, Michael Dexter Posey, Frank Posey, Russell Junior Posey, Ira James Posey, Frederick Grant Posey, and John Alfred Posey.
Mr. Posey was a retired school bus driver with the Lewis County School System and a carpenter by trade. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving as a private first class serving in the Korean Conflict. Robert was a member of the Murphy’s Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a trustee. He enjoyed hunting. He will be greatly missed by his family, church family and neighbors.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 4-7 p.m. A private family service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. from the Murphy’s Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Wease Day officiating. Interment will follow in the Fisher Cemetery on Murphy’s Creek Road in Lewis County, WV. Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the Lewis County Honor Guard.
