Obituary for Robert Andrew Hughes
Robert Andrew Hughes, 57, of Camden passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at his home following a sudden illness. He was born in Massapequa, NY on January 18, 1963: son of Leroy Hughes and Joy (DiMaina) Hughes. On August 19, 2007, he married Maria (Messina) Hughes, who survives.
He is also survived by five children: Anthony Hughes of Connecticut, Alyssa Hughes of New York, Jillian Porch of Nevada, Douglas Hughes of New York, and Zachary Messina of West Virginia and one grandson. Robert is also survived by five siblings: Karen Hearty, Raymond Hughes, Robert Hauss, Russ Hauss and Raymond Hauss and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hughes was a construction mechanic with Applied Construction Solutions of Bridgeport, WV. He had earlier worked as a network engineer with HSBC and Cantor Fitzgerald. Robert was a veteran of the United States Navy serving as a senior field service engineer at Naval Weapons Systems Group. Most of his children followed in his footsteps in serving their country in the United States Navy.
Mr. Hughes loved old cars of all types. His farm was his world and his domain.
