Obituary for Randal Clay Brown
Randal Clay Brown, 69, of Murphy’s Creek Road Weston passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020 in Ruby Memorial Hospital of Morgantown following complications from a stroke. He was born in Weston on December 2, 1950: son of the late Fleming Thomas Brown and Nelva Jean (Hoard) Brown.
Mr. Brown is survived by one daughter: Amanda Spencer and husband Charlie of Friendly, WV, three sons: Ben Brown and wife Casey of Jane Lew, Joseph Brown of Lost Creek and Jeffrey Brown and wife Ivana of Mascoutah, IL and nine grandchildren: Hannah Spencer, Cole, Maria and Stephanie Brown, Jacqueline, Macy and Lauren Brown and Jasmin and Oliver Brown. He is also survived by one brother: Mathew Brown and wife Judie of Weston, one sister: Ann Oakman of Kentucky and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his companion of several years:Joyce Moneypenny.In addition to his parents, Clay was preceded in death by one son: Steven Brown and one brother: James Michael Brown.
Mr. Brown retired from the West Virginia Department of Agriculture. He was a graduate of Lewis County High School with the class of 1968 and graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. He attended the Murphy’s Creek Baptist Church. Clay loved his farm animals and was known to take in stray animals as well. Spending time with his family was his greatest joy and he loved to make them smile.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Thursday, May 14, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. A Private Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. from the Hardman Family Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Wease Day officiating.
