Obituary for Michael Harold Curtis

Michael Harold Curtis, 77, of Mid Avenue Weston passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020. He was born in Weston on April 9, 1942: son of the late Edgar Curtis and Mildred (Bell) Curtis. On December 20, 1974, he married Phyllis (Brady) Curtis, who survives.

Mr. Curtis is also survived by five children: Teresa Fallon and husband Steven of Weston, Lisa Cogar and husband George of Weston, Stephen Baker of Seattle, WA, Michael Baker and wife Cindy of Bridgeport and David Curtis of Weston, 10 grandchildren: Ryan Fallon, DeAnn Stamper, Brandy Spotloe, Robert (Ashley) Murphy, Jeffery Murphy, Thomas (Jasmine) Baker, Madison Gibson, Angel McCartney, Sierra Curtis and Presley Posey and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters: Coralie Thompson of Reynoldsville, PA and Laverne Hayes of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews and a special niece: Vicky Hinchman. In addition to his parents, Mr. Curtis was preceded in death by one brother: Stephen Curtis.

Mr. Curtis was a retired mechanic with the West Virginia Department of Highways. He was a graduate of Weston High School with the class of 1960. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. Mr. Curtis was a veteran of the United States Army where he received the rank of specialist E5 and served stateside as well as overseas in Hamburg, Germany.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. from the West Virginia National Cemetery of Grafton, WV with full military honors provided by the United States Army and the Lewis County Honor Guard.
