Obituary for Juanita Elizabeth Posey (Robison)

Juanita Elizabeth Robison Posey, 77, of Pricetown, departed this Earthly life and went peacefully home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 1st, 2020 at her residence after a 53 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Juanita was born in Webster Springs, WV on March 29th, 1943, the youngest child of the late W.E. “Pop” and Hettie Marshall Robison. She was a graduate of Weston High School, Class of 1961. She was also a long time member of the Miles Chapel United Methodist Church in Pricetown. Juanita married her husband Dale in 1961.

Juanita was a woman of God and knew for some time her Earthly body was nearing its end. Prior to her illness she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, and quilting and often made her husband, children, and grandchildren hand-made clothing. She was an excellent cook. Juanita was a very intelligent woman. She was the keeper of all of the Posey and Robison family information, dates, and stories. She carried her illness with grace and was a very strong and brave woman.

Juanita is survived by her loving husband, Dale Arthur Posey who cared for her for many years in their home: two sons: Dennis Dale Posey and wife Mary Ann of Lost Creek, and Timothy Alan Posey and wife Marsha, of Madison Heights, VA: one sister: Lucille Hicks of Jane Lew, two sister-in-laws: Ethel Robison of OH, and Alma Robison of Jane Lew, WV, three granddaughters: Shayla and Shanli Posey of Clarksburg and Julie Aiken of Oxford, NC, twenty nieces and nephews: thirty-two great nieces and nephews, several great-great nieces and nephews, one great granddaughter, and one great grandson.

In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by two sisters: Wilma Sibray and Bernandine Tucker, three brothers: James “Jim” Robison who visited her every week for 20 years, Ralph Robison, and Lawrence “Larry” Robison, and one nephew: William “Bill” Tucker.

Family and friends will gather at the Hardman Family Funeral Home, 730 N Main Avenue Weston, WV on Thursday, September 3rd, 2020 from 4:00-7:00PM. A private family funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Friday, September 4th, 2020 at 11:00AM with Reverend Kenny Kendall officiating. Interment will follow at The Lewis County Memorial Garden Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Juanita Posey’s name to Miles Chapel United Methodist Church at 1934 US 33 Weston, WV 26452.
