Elaine Atchison, 84, of Norfolk, VA passed away on Monday, April 6, 2020 at her home following a battle with dementia. She was born in Weston on August 27, 1935: daughter of the late Clarence Cutright and Josie (Stalnaker) Cutright. On July 15, 1961, she married James A. Atchison, who survives.

Mrs. Atchison is also survived by one son: Jeffrey A Atchison of Norfolk, VA, three grandchildren: Jacob Atchison and Jeremy and Jenifer Davenport and several great grandchildren.

Mrs. Atchison retired from the Army Corp of Engineers with 47 years with the federal government. She started her federal career in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center of Clarksburg. She also was employed at the Weston State Hospital. Bessie enjoyed selling Easter Eggs with the Mt. Lebanon Church with one of her co-workers. She also helped with the Boys Scouts with her son Jeffrey.

A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2020 with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery.
